Eagles who visit the White House, President Donald Trump to celebrate Super Bowl victory in April

The Philadelphia Eagles go to the White House.

The Eagles officially celebrate their victory in Super Bowl Lix on April 28, Witte Huis announced Pers Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Tuesday.

“I know there was many fake news about an invitation that was not sent or sent. We want to correct the record: we have sent an invitation. They accepted enthusiastically, and you will see them here on April 28, “said Leavitt during the daily briefing from the White House, via athletics.

During a visit to the White House to celebrate a championship with the president, a long -standing tradition in the United States, which fell considerably during Trump’s first Stint, is in office. For example, the Golden State Warriors decided not to visit after winning the NBA title in 2017 and 2018.

This year the Eagles will be the second team to visit Trump in the White House. The Florida Panthers visited Trump last month to celebrate their Stanley Cup title last season.

The Eagles did not visit the White House after their victory in Super Bowl Lii. Trump said he had withdrawn their invitation and claimed that this was due to the team that stayed in the dressing room during the national anthem that season, but there were no known examples of players who did this season. Some Eagles had criticized the NFL policy in which players had to be on the field that season for the national anthem.

A later report showed that the Eagles were planning to send only a small group to meet Trump, and that most, if not all, the black players of the team killed.

The Eagles said shortly after their victory over the Chiefs of Kansas City in the Super Bowl earlier this year that they would go if they were invited – that was something that was questioned in the weeks after the game. However, Trump confirmed last month that he intended to invite them. He became the first sitting president who attended the Super Bowl last month when he went to the game in New Orleans, although he chose the Chiefs to be famous to partially win because of the Quarterback Patrick Mahomes from Kansas City.

Now, after a little controversy, a date is officially in the books. Whether the entire Eagles team chooses to make the trip to Washington to celebrate or not, can still be seen.
